Message	the smell of it and make sure this replacement smells similar (not burnt). Look for wires that have been cut, and a bashed or pysically broken speed sensor and/or shift switch. Replace the front torque converter seal and the rear drive shaft yoke seal for cheap insurance. Other than that, you won't know how well it works until you install it. Whatcha going to do with the old transmission? I buy parts off of TT automatics, shoot me an email if you're interested.
