Message I cannot begin to thank you all enough for your generosity throughout my fundraiser this year. In the end, we raised $23,680 which was, by almost a factor of 5, the #1 single fundraiser for the event. The original goal, which the society takes a percentage of for administrative costs, was only $1,800 so that got completely blown away. What this means in concrete terms is that the money you donated through my campaign will directly help 48 local families who are affected by leukemia and lymphoma, as well as contributing toward further research for the cure. The overall local team for this event raised over $225,000. This is just amazing!

As far as the marathon itself, everything went extremely well also. Last year I finished in 4 hours and 40 minutes, which averages out to 10:41/mile.

I was shooting on the aggressive side to run in 3 hours 40 minutes, and ended up finishing in 3 hours 52 minutes for an average of 8:47/mile. I still hit a wall around mile 20 but was able to do everything at a faster pace than my previous attempt.

The best part of the marathon was crossing that finish line and having my family meet me this time. Here's the moment captured by Damon:

I ultimately finished in 79th place out of 501 finishers, and 14th in my age group.

For those interested in data details about the marathon, I logged everything with my Garmin and uploaded it here: Marathon Run Statistics

Thank you all once again for your incredible support!
