The problem with chemical stripping is that it will get into ever little nook and cranny that you can't get to with primer and paint afterwords. This will eventually lead to areas prematurely rusting because the bare metal never gets coated. We may use it to strip the hood though since we don't want to get the aluminum too hot and warp it.Media blasting would have the same effect where the media gets forced into unwanted cracks and crevices. And to be honest, there were a few areas of body filler (just found hiding) that media blasting probably wouldn't have removed. The car had been repainted with a lot of material at least once. We have also discovered some previous repairs that must have happened before she got the car. So some areas have been painted twice. Just trying to start with as good a base as possible.
