| Cliff Notes: assemble fuel rail and fittings when they are at room temperature and not under 40 degrees (just a guestimate). I recently ran into a bit of an issue the other day worth mentioning. I know there is a super secret 300DFR forum here and since I'm not officially an owner of one, I cannot search or post there. Regardless, anyone living in a cold climate should consider this when assembling the fuel rail. Do not assembly the fuel rail and fittings when it is cold out and the fuel rail is equally as cold. Aluminum shrinks (duh) and although the fittings may feel tight enough when cold, they may actually loosen up when the car and/or air warms up. The last set I installed (with specialtyz's lines and fittings) was probably around 30 degrees out or colder and the fuel rail was left in the garage before assembly. I'm positive all of the fittings were tight before installing. After installation, the car ran without a problem and never leaked a drop of fuel during the few test runs around the block. After a lengthy drive, however, all four fittings were became loose and started leaking fuel (AN union to the rail itself).
