Guys, my legacy will be the info I give you for your pursuit of Z-knowledge. So hopefully this will enlighten my fellow Z-Lovers and fanatics about a very important, little known part of Z-history.
Here is the Big difference between the Strosek Body Modification Kit and its cheap imitations and why the reason for such a high price on just another "kit".
A. The reason is because this "kit" has history. The purchase of this unique "Kit " from Strosek enhances your Z into more of a modern day classic than she already is.
Fact: Back sometime in the early 1990s, Nissan wanted to enhance the Fairlady Z into a more appealing car for a sports car driven market. Nissan sent a Japanese version TwinTurbo 300zx(2+2) to a world reknown automobile designer for Porsches in Germany, this company was known as Strosek Auto Design. Strosek's masterpiece was the Strosek 300ZX. It was wind tunnel tested to be faster and more aerodynamically efficient at high speeds with a incredible amount of down force and a much lower drag coefficient than a normal Z.
Unfortunately, this new Z would never hit the assembly line at Nissan. Due to a drastic turn around in public opinion and sales, the sport car market was destined to fail. This info caused Nissan to halt all interest in the production of this new Z until a better time.
After this upset, Nissan granted Strosek Auto Design with the rights and privlages to continue the production and distribution of the Strosek "Kit" to dedicated Z-Fans who were interested in owning a part of Z-History for a hefty price.
This is why this "Kit" is so expensive, because everyone who purchases this kit gets the privlage to own a kind of prototype of the Z-masterpiece that never came to be.
The truth should be evident to you now. As you can see the manufcaturers of the kits that closely resemble the Strosek 300zx are not truley the same.
