Message When I went, I had Chris at Ultimate Z look over my car. He checked the brake pads for wear and checked the wheel bearings. Make sure your tire pressure is right, torque your lug nuts to spec. Full tank of gas before you go.

At the course, stay inside your limits. It's your first time, so approach the limit gradually. They say you should first learn "the line", then learn to drive at the limit on the line.

Do not "lightly" apply the brakes as you apprach the first turn of a long straight. I chickened out like this on my last run at the end of a race day: boiled my brake fluid. Use the brakes VERY hard for a VERY short period of time, that's the way to avoid brake fade. If you do get brake fade, turning the wheel a *good bit* more than you should will scrub away your speed, keeping you on the track. Yes I speak from firsthand experience!

Have fun, and listen to every piece of advice you get on how to take the turns.
