Message would not make any difference in accuracy or lag. For example, most boost controllers we use on our Zs have a boost line going to your main control box without problems. If accuracy and lag was an issue, we would have to relocate the main control box to the engine bay to get a better reading, which would probably wreck the controller and be impractical to implement.

The speed on pneumatic logic circuits I use at work react very quickly even over long distances. for example a 36" 0.25" id tube @ 20 psi will have an approximate pressure drop of 0.03 psi if your air flow is around .5 CFM in the tube(not a whole lot). as flow decreases in the tubing pressure drop deceases to zero.

Technically speaking a sensor directly on the plenum is ideal, however if aesthetics is a high priority then I believe a relocation would not cause problems.

The only reason I brought it up is if that sensor is over 2-3" long including the harness connector it might interfere or hit the battery.
