| You may remember this post I made in December. Please review it for details on what this is all about. It is now exactly 2 weeks from the marathon and I'm hoping to get one last push before the fundraiser ends. The response from everyone has been phenomenal and I would like to ask you once again to consider supporting this cause if you haven't already. My daughter continues to do extremely well and the most recent bone marrow test results from St. Jude's show her to be completely clear, although there's still another 18 months worth of treatment to go. I've logged just about 500 miles on 2 sets of sneakers as I've been prepping for the run (which is about 400 more miles than I've logged on the Z in the same time period!) My expectations to beat my first marathon time from last year are definitely on track and I'm running much faster than I ever have. I ran a competitive half-marathon in February and finished with a time of 1:43:40 (or 7:52 min/mile avg), which put me 207th out of about 2,000 finishers. A shot from that race within sight of the finish line:
My expectations for the fundraiser have likewise been blown away. I actually checked and found out that the top single fundraiser ever in North Texas raised $23,000. As I write this, you all have put me at about $19,000 so is it possible that we could take down another 'crown' together? :) If you need to do some charitable giving for 2008 I would encourage you to consider this and feel free to check out the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. You can donate online here !! Thank you all in advance for reading this and for your continued support!
