Message The torque vs. boost pressure relationship is independent of the boost controller. If two boost controllers provided the same boost across the RPM band, their torque outputs would be identical. However, boost controllers do not provide identical boost across RPM and that's why torque curves from two different boost controllers differ. So let's only focus on the boost curve of a boost controller.

The boost curves for all boost controllers are identical significantly before and after the boost threshold (3600RPM for stock TT); it is only in the vicinity of the boost threshold that things differ. Specifically, there are two effects that cause the difference: boost buildup and boost spike. Boost buildup is generally faster for solenoid-based vs. stepper-based boost controllers. Boost spike is undesirable and generally more in solenoid-based controllers. The gain setting helps trading off these two effects.

Other important differences between boost controllers are: pressure sensor quality and longevity of the boost control actuator. UI and aesthetics are matters of personal preference. Based on my research, my pick was Blitz SBC i-D III.
