I don't doubt that they make good aluminum d/shaft. Not at all. Here's my suggestion. Call him up again, ask him that stuff I talked about in the tech forum. Do they do any modal analysis (NVH) test on their d/shaft so that they can make a shaft that has 1st bending mode frequency similar (or higher)to the stock 2 piece shaft? Or even easier, ask him about these info: 1)Length of d/shaft 2)inner and outer diameter of the d/shaft 3)material of driveshaft (I know is aluminum, but what kind? T6061?) 4)Total weight of d/shaft. I can figure out the 1st bending mode of his shaft. Then I will compare it to the stock d/shaft.(Provided that someone give me the same info of the stock shaft). If I am right, the one piece d/shaft will have a much significantly lower frequency than the stock one. And this is big deal. Keep in mind that I am not discouraging you to go one piece d/shaft. Just that it is not so simple. There are other things you need to take into account for. you posted that you have this problem. I gave you the answer. For some reason, we have some disagreement(sp?), I am wrong, they're right. Also I don't get a single cent for prooving me right. But they will lose thier business big time if I am right. SO what will they tell you?
