The V1 is great. As you probably know...It's about $400 usd and $40 usd for the remote display (get it!). It does Laser, Ka, K, X. 360 deg. coverage. yada yada yada. It also can't be detected by VG2 (radar detector detectors). It's by far the superior radar detector, but it comes with that $$$. But if it saves you a couple times, it paid for itself. If they are using Ka, K, X...then you are fine. The "frequencies" don't apply to a TRUE radar detector. I forget the numbers...but Ka will be in the range between x1 to x2....then K will between x3 to x4...then X will between x5 to x6. If you get a radar detector that will detect the whole band (ie V1)...then you are fine. You don't need to worry about frequencies. So if it does the TRUE detection of Ka, K, X...you're fine. But if you get a cheaper detector...it may only detect half the band. Then if you get shot with a frequency that your radar detector can't do...then you're screwed. So MAKE sure that your detector does the full spectrum. V1 does it. V1 will save your butt.
