Not so much the "we're taking your car" part, though that was a possibility. I was on Green St. in Pasadena which is a busy one-way street and I had some idiot in a Civic or Acura take off from a light, bolt to the next light and turn right. Sure enough, an unmarked cruiser pulls ME over for racing. I didn't have to go through nearly as much flak as you but I was shocked that she tried to claim I was racing. I flat out denied it, explained I was on my way to work (I had a server in the front seat in fact) and she ended up telling me she "wouldn't call it in as long as I kept my nose clean". Again, no mention of taking my car but that certainly could have been the case if they tried to push the street racing angle. Fuck those vague laws and the sheep that let them continue.
