Message the system towards the valve assembly to control airflow: regulator on compressor i usually leave full blast, then i have one after the ball valve that i regulate as necessary (like when i powdercoat, i set it to around 10 psi). i have had several break on me, and they are not very precise in the lower psi ranges. therefore, i get a gauge that has a smaller scale and therefore more precision. also, you say the are less than $50, but the quality with these are very price dependent. i would not want to mislead someone into getting one of the very inexpensive ones. where did you get the one as pictured? i guess one of these days i will shell out the green for a higher quality one.

i may try this regulator setup if i find one i can trust, instead of making a new leak tester, but i will still tap a smaller scale gauge into the tester for more precision.

what do you use to feed the regulator assembly in this picture? is it coming straight from the compressor, or is it grip feed from something like a tire chuck(like at gas stations) or blow guns? i usually like something with a grip like a blow gun to control the airflow (because i dont always trust the regulator due to spikes, etc.). also, where do you get good quality quick-disconnects, cause mine always leak (again, maybe me being too cheap again).
