For the Alltrack unit, a single alert can go to my e-mail, phone, text message, and pager and only cost me 1 point for the alert... and not the communications. If I were to use the Viper system, it would cost me 1 point for the alert and another 4 points for the communications. Also, I believe the only feature the Viper offers that the Alltrack one doesn't is the remote engine start. I think the Viper is really nice in that it's probably easy to integrate with a Viper alarm system... whereas the Alltrack you have to kind of figure out each extra feature depending on what alarm system you may have already.
