: when it hits the rev limiter, that provides some load... not much, but enough to generate 5-7 psi of boost. As you said, when it hits the rev limiter, cylinders stop firing. Meaning the other cylinders get loaded with the burden of turning the crank w/o the help of the additional cylinder's combustion. That should be enough to provide load for the boost to come on. Maybe I'm in left field. Been that way a lot lately. =\ Have you tried 2nd gear launches with the OS clutch? I've been able to do it w/ my Cyclone (although I haven't done it at the track). It'd definitely kill the clutch w/ launch control.
