It's a little hard to tell by the picture but it looks like the impellers are not damaged due to debris. If that was the case you should see the impellers nicked up, dented and scratched. What you have could be caused by a faulty fan clutch and/or very low water supply. If the clutch was to start freezing up, the water pump would turn at a high rate of speed. That will cause cavitation. What that is, is gas bubbles forming because the water can't keep up with the speed of the water pump. The pump impellers become less submerged in the water. The impellers will be slapping the water and there will be high heat and pressure caused by the cavitation due to lack of cooling. The impellers probably got so hot that there was enough force from the speed of the pump to bend the impellers as they were slapping the water. Of course, this is just a theory :)
