I currently have 18x9.5 +40 offset in the rear with my TE37's. I have put those rears on the front just as a test and they fit just fine without rubbing/spacers etc. (And no they don't look skinny in the rear.) 
On the flip side, I have taken the wheels off my EVO (18x9.5 +22) and those fit fine on all 4 corners too. Slight rub in the rear but nothing major.
