Message went to do a DE at MSR in Ft. Worth this past weekend, u guys who came to ZCON 06 will remember this track. I had an amazing time, learned so much about the Z and how to drive it, its characteristics when pushed. words cannot describe how much fun i had this past weekend. its everything u want to do with the Z but cant on the street. on to the pics...

it was great great weather this weekend, 60s-70s, dry, light wind...

this is THE car to have for this lifestyle, owned by the head instructor of Driver's Edge, no one in the group could keep up with him, he was doing 1:22s the few times i timed him...(sub 1:30s is a good time for this track), im sure he wasnt pushing it either as he was giving demo rides all day...

noble, driven by a mother son team, they were novices so not too impressive this weekend, very cool car...

it was corvette club day, tons of modded Z06s...during my solo sessions i was able to keep within 3-4 car lenghts of one of these for the entire session, that was the best session of the whole weekend...cannot say enough about how fun it was to chase a Z06 on a road course...i was mentally washed out but what a thrilling drive! i pulled up next to him in the pits afterwards to give him the thumbs up, he responded with "u were in my rearview the whole time, thats one quick 300!"

formula mazda car owned by one of the members of the ranch...

a Radical, was behind this thing on the track, not for long though...this thing grips!

another member race car, full carbon fiber...

another members ford GT, was also keeping pace with this car for almost an entire session until i made some braking mistakes and fell back...one of my lessons this weekend was how to trail brake properly to get the rear to rotate around, its an unbelievable feeling when u get it just right!

gotta get one of these...

the only other 300ZX there was an instructor owned car, Chuck, very cool guy. comes up to me in the paddock and says "ive been through two engines in this car, they oil starve easily, be careful!" so we talk more and he tells me about his dry sump setup that he had built for him out of CA, had to take some pics!

10 points if u can spot whats wrong in this pic...

he was having some overheating issues, he has a lower rad hard pipe, but this is the first ive seen of the upper hoses collapsing, no one could really explain to me why this happens, ?low coolant ?clogged overflow return hose...anyone?

this is me lined up before the last session of the weekend, behind an Exige, was 2 car lengths behind for half the session until he spun out, luckily he and the car were unhurt...very cool guy as well...his car promptly started a huge grass fire and the organizers called it quits...

3.5 hours of total track time and the Z ran flawlessly thank God! RT615s, Hawk HT10s, and 18 psi. i took my pulse after one of the sessions, it was 170. that about sums up my experience.
