| although most vendors have struggled with their business in the beginning, they figured out how to make it work. Those that didn't figure it out fell by the way side. Now, it is understandable that Ash has had problems with his manufacturer who overpromised and underdelivered. Unfortunately, the average buyer doesn't care. When you pay for a product, you expect it to come when promised (within reason). When you order something from Bernie, it's in the mail as soon as the check clears or paypal sends him a verification. His communication is good and he follows up with a confirmation email and a tracking number. Deliver on time and maintain communication, it's not that difficult and makes all the difference to the buyer. I'd rather pay more for a product that I know will arrive on time and without problem from a vendor who will back up their promises and do whatever it takes to make it right as soon as possible. Yes, Ash may have eventually made good on all of his promises, but if it takes a long time to do so, it loses its effect on the consumer, no matter how honorable he is. It seems that Ash's big problem is lack of capital for his projects and lack of communication with customers. I suspect that the communication issue improved when his wife came on board to help and he hired an employee. I don't know for sure, as I've never ordered anything from him before. With regard to capital, I understand that the intercooler piping is expensive and it's risky to manufacture 100 or whatever sets without having pre-orders, but if you operate on a pre-order basis, you have to deliver on time. End of story. No, if, ands or buts about it. There are people who are in the middle of builds or who are holding off on builds until they get these products. Call me a Bernie fanboy if you want, but he has never failed me or anybody else that I can recall and I'm on here everyday and have used search until my eyes have bled. Bernie had the PEX water pump pulleys in hand and ready to ship out before the orders came in. Granted, the cost to manufacture a PEX water pump pulley is significantly less than to manufacture intricate mandrel bent intercooler piping. However, he put out the initial capital (or made arrangements with his manufacturer) so that he could have the product in hand before he advertised them for sale. I don't think anybody doubts that Ash has good intentions and continually pushes development of new Z32 products, but his lackluster customer service has caused many people to simply stay away. It's just not good business to take someones money for a product, promise a delivery date, and then fail to deliver. Even if the delay was beyond Ash's control, he is still accountable as customers are buying from him and not his manufacturer who overpromised and underdelivered. I hope that Ash continues to innovate new products for the Z32 as I think we all benefit from it. As his business becomes more successful, I'm sure that the capital outlay will become less and less of a problem and hopefully the quality of his product makes up for his past and current deficiencies in customer service and product delivery. I'm out.
