Message	They get a 02 probe and stick it up the exhaust pipe (is the 02 emission level doesn't change coming down the exhaust pipe). Some tuners use a hand held 02 read out and some have these great big scope machines which read allsorts of things, unburnt fuel, hydrocarbons, C02 levels, a/f ratio etc etc. At TechnCar (where we get our cars modded and serviced) Harvey has got a scope device which plugs into a laptop, the device has a little "probe" which gets stuck up the exhaust pipe, turn the car on and watch the display. It's VERY interesting, and bloody helpful for diagnosing things, like one car had a hunting idle, we saw the a/f ratios heading towards infinity and it made it much easier to solve the problem.
