Message I am fully aware of the fact that I would lose low end power as opposed to stock, with good cats. But that was my question, would it be beneficial to gut these old cats if they are indeed clogged, which I think they are. SO you're saying that gutted cats would give me more power than clogged cats? Makes sense. Too much airflow instead of not enough. But what do you mean "get" them gutted? I was under the impression this could be a DIYer. How exactly do you go about gutting cats? Bashing them with a hammer? I think I'd be really good at that, considering my hatred for my exhaust right now, hehe. How much would stock cats cost me in case I didn't like the gutted cats? Because the majority of my driving is around town under 4k rpms, I don't really wanna lose low end. Hmmm decisions decisions. Basically I'm thinking why not gut these if they're clogged, it won't make it any worse. Which brings me to my last question: How can you tell for sure they are clogged? Just gotta pop em off and look at them? Is that a PITA? Cuz I know something's up with my car. When in 1st (5 spd), my car really "grabs" when you take your foot of the gas, like the whole car shakes and slows down really fast. It's really annoying. Could this be a symptom of clogged cats? Or maybe something else, like PCV valves? I dunno. Why can't Greg Dupree just live next door or something? Well thanks!

Oh and a completely off topic question, does ANYONE know, are stock shocks and springs cheaper than aftermarket? How much are stock?! I can't find these prices anywhere! Gracias mucho.
