would not hesitate putting test pipes on your z. That way you can still install the cats if needed, and actually test pipes are better hp than gutted cats. On the mpg thing, your cats may not be helping, but your 0z sensors may be bad, or other things may be affecting your mileage.....you may want to check it out or have the car checked out..... good luck, Jeff : I was scrolling through the posts on z32.org and found one saying some guy had horrible gas mileage and...what do you know, so do I (14mpg-moderate to good driving). So I see a response saying, do you have a rotten egg smell? cuz that could be it...I wondered what the damn rotten egg smell I had coming from the car sometimes was, so I clicked that response. Dude man said that the cats were clogged and needed to be gutted or replaced...so my question is: : How hard is it to gut my cats (DIY?), is it worth it, or should I just buy new ones ($?). Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. : -Stephen
