Message Which is a justified comment in some respects. Depends what your goals are, budget, mechanical ability, timeline and many other factors.

I figure this for why to do it:
-If you have work done to your NA (body, interior, suspension, etc) its worth a shot.
-If you have become attached to your NA and want more power, sure thing.
-If your NA is auto or the motor is worn out, good time to change powerplants and transmissions.
-If you got a steal on an NA chassis and its in otherwise good condition, more power to you.
-If you want to do a somewhat built Z, where many OEM powertrain components will be removed/replaced, not a bad idea.

Why not to do it:
-If you are going to pay a shop an arm and a leg to put in a JDM motor, try finding a factory TT.
-You are going to try to do the work yourself, and think you can do it for less than $3.5k and in one day, you need to get in touch with the world.
-You have a really clean low mileage NA, sell it while it has good value (for an NA - I got $7300 for one with 68k that I put a members pulled NA to TT motor in with 69k).
-Its your first Z and you have yet to realize the cost of maintenance.

There's a lot of conversions out there - some are great, and some are terrible. There's also a handful of clean TT's for sale, looking for good owners. There's plenty more TT's with terrible owners looking for new life. Either way, its a Z and you will enjoy it.
