Message	that is the tire max pressure, as you said. NOT what they should be inflated to installed on that car. Use the pressures in the console lid as Buzz says. The diff between the tire printing and the vehicle recommendation is exactly what part of the whole Explorer/Firestone deal is. Using the pressure on the sidewall is like saying the GVW sticker in the door jamb is what the car weighs.
