Message Let me put this in the following context:

Suppose I did some testing and found that a stock Z with a close ratio gear set would be 2 seconds per lap faster around Laguna Seca, but 5/10 sec slower in a 1/4 mi, as compared to a shorter rear end gear. Which is "better"?

Suppose I did some testing and found that a stock Z with close ratio gear set is 5/10 sec faster in 30-60mph sprint but a stock Z with shorter rear end gear is 3/10 sec faster in a 0-30mph sprint. Which is "better"?

Changing gear ratios is unlike certain mods, where you can say that you gain x hp, or gain x lbs of downforce, etc. It could be "better" in some scenarios, it could be worse in others. F1 cars change gear ratios depending on track, etc. There is no one set of ratios that is ideal under all situations.
