Message I have both a fuel-pump-cutoff switch and spark-cutoff-switch wired into my car. Every time I start I crank for a few seconds with fuel and spark cut, so I always have oil pressure before it fires. I crank for a few seconds, then hit fuel for a second or two, and then hit spark. This is mostly because the dry sump requires a few extra cranks to prime up completely, but I figure it wouldn't hurt any car. Aside from folks at the gas station thinking your car is a piece of junk because it doesn't start up right away, I see no downside.
