The CDA series are all AI Net compatible which means in the future you can add any Alpine Audio components i.e. cd changers, dvd players, digital sound processors or any other crazy stuff they design and control it all from the head unit. More over the 9886 which you've showed above has 3 sets of preouts which means you can either connect 3 amps to it to controll each set of speakers and sub with its own amp or because of the limited room in the z you can just get a multi channel amp to put in.
I am partial to alpine and of the listed head units i think the design and layout is nicer.
