I have had experience with both of these units, and i have to say Alpine is the better choice. The buttons that go from one song to the next are devoted to just that, where as the pioneer one is a huge sloppy knob that is a bad take on a joystick. The text on alpine is a lot easier to read and is meant to be there for functionality, where as pioneer relies on their wide range of graphics and weir stuff to apply to some market where people find this appealing. I have also found the alpine units to give the user much better control over the sound options. as for speakers, it all depends on price range. mb quart is no where near the top if you have limitless money. if you did i might go for some Rainbow CS Platinums (around 3 grand a pair) but in order to choose a good speaker for you, i need to know price range, music style you listen to, listening habits(cranked as loud as you can go, so and bassy, or just plain soothing as you sit in bumper to bumper traffic).
