The reason Zs are so cheap vs. Supras, RX7s, corvettes, etc. is poor advertising on the Nissan's side, among other reasons. But I wouldn't agree that the sellers set the precedent (set being past-tense, as the cars aged over the past 17+ years). I don't think the general public really knows what a Z-car really is (vs. a corvette or mustang, which every hick and hillbilly has a poster of and dreams about regularly). Thus, they value them much lower, seeing it as "settling" for a lesser sports car instead of the (fill in the blank) they really wanted but couldn't afford. If advertised correctly, the commercials would have shown the Z32TT blowing the doors off a corvette or whatever car in its price range it stood against. Instead, people turn their heads my direction and shout, "What was that?" Not a whole lot of people seek out cars they don't know exist, and thus aren't willing to pay a pretty penny for a car they know nothing about. If the general population has no clue what a particular vehicle is when they see it, I'd say something went wrong in the advertising department. I definitely wouldn't say the owners are to blame "because of the sellers letting them go for so little."
