Message or maybe just begins. Many of you know just what a nightmare I've gone through with my car in the last few years. I am pleased to say that it has come to an end (knock on wood). . .

Without recalling my entire post history, I'll briefly re-state that after a very expensive, spare-no-expense engine build, some unknown gremlin was preventing my car from boosting beyond 17 psi. Something was dousing the spark, fuel delivery was A-OK, though figuring this part out took a long, long time.

After going through re-done fuel lines, spark plugs, coils, fuel pumps, voltage regulators, essentialy trying every possible solution, the brilliant Greg and Seb of Specialty found the root of the problem that the engine builders had created for me. . .

Several of the fuel rail o-rings were pinched. So, under high boost, a major vaccuum leak was created that led to an ultra-rich condition that frustrated even the stoutest spark.

I am pleased to report that having resolved that unfortunate, difficult to trace gremlin, we took the car to the dyno today.

Results?

91 Octane: 473.42 RWHP \ 377 tq at about 13 psi

100 Octane: 602.83/539 at about 21psi

They ran 26 psi on c-23, but not on the dyno. I imagine that was pretty exciting.

The long and short of it was that today was the first day I could drive the car at anything over 16 psi and well, lemme tell ya, it's a freakish beast; simply a whole new car.

Not sure I would go back and do it all over again, but it was a watershed day for my current Z experience. It was never anything even remotely approaching what it drives like today.

Oh, and the modified VTC's sound (or rather don't make any sound) great so far.

I'd post the dyno, but I can't seem to put it up. If someone emails me, I'll gladly post it.

Not that they need additional props here, but Greg and Seb put in countless, and I do mean countless, hours of their own time trying to resolve the little gremlins plaguing my car. Gremlins I might add that they had nothing whatsoever to do with creating. There was some real Z altruism at work and I am in their debt.
