you have the Z. It's a project that never ends. It's a 15-20 year old car, you won't just rebuild the engine and be good for the next 5 years while you're in college. I'm not trying to discourage you because I think if you really care about the car and it's what you want, you should seek out the perfect one and go for it. But be patient about it and don't jump into anything that's not 100% right. And be prepared to do more than just the average maintenance for as long as you own the car. My suggestion for college is to have a car you can not care much about while you're in school - because you won't have a lot of time attend to it. That might just mean you get a cheap DD and your Z is stored for a few years, but it's a tough time in your life to devote a lot of time and money to a car.
