| I admire your enthusiasm, and you're obviously genuinely interested. So I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I just want to bring in a bit of reality, which is hard to see when you're starry-eyed over something; I know. You stated: "im on a limited budget." "It seems kinda far fetched for me to find a good Z for under $4k but I thought it was worth a try because almost every other car in this budget is pretty much a Commuter car or a ricer like a civic." Glad you realize it's far-fetched, and yes, it is. If you find one for under $4k, it's not going to be a "good" one. There's a reason every other car in that range is not the same kind of car as a Z; because the good Zs are not in that range. This is important to save yourself some money: "Im pretty good at mechanics and have a couple of friends who work as mechanics." But parts cost money, too. If you buy a $4k Z, you can expect to put a couple thousand dollars more into it real soon. So really, it wouldn't be a $4k Z. I know this is probably your dream car right now, but with the limited budget you describe, you should think about getting a cheap car for a year or two, DON'T mod the cheap car, but save up, spend the time between now and then perusing this site and learning about Zs, and THEN hunt yourself down a good one. Good luck with your decision.
You don't have to live in a bubble just because someone else caught the flu. Make your decision on your ability to trust yourself. - NytWolf 15:49:05 12/17/06
I was previously a aviation mechanic and avionic technician and this car is harder to work on than Aircraft. - Hocuz77 03:04:56 02/28/06 |
