Message This is a quick list of stuff that I took with my earlier this year when i made a similar trip with the Z (and came in handy, as I had the alternator fail at ~11h and the throwout bearing at ~14h lol.
- Ohm Meter/Tester (good for diagnosing any problem)
- Gallon of water, and a gallon of antifreeze
- Few quarts of oil, and some ATF
- Misc tool set
- Pack a carry-on bag with the following:
- Assorted sizes of vacuum hoses
- hose clamps
- fix a flat
- duct tape
- Assorted electrical wires
- Tire pressure gauge
- Emergency blanket(s)
- A Hammer
- Wallet ;)

- I know it might be a little excessive, but trust me if you have problem and can solve them yourself (rather then calling a tow truck and paying for repairs) you will be a much happier person. The extra fluids will come in handy if you spring a leak somewhere along the drive, at least you might have enough to get you to the next town. Good luck!

How to Check Turbos: "1st remove exhaust and pre-cats. Then fire that mother up, rev it to at least 5000 rpm and then stick your finger into the hole on the back of the turbo. If the turbine grinds your finger down, then your turbo is working. If your finger gets ground off farther than the second knuckle, then your turbos are good for at least another 60k miles! Don't forget to check both sides." -I am Z-ing Double
