he's gone from a 12 man team to a 3 man team and it's been going on accost the plant. Lean manufacturing is what they call it, and in theory I understand the idea; however, in the case of my dads department (repair) it just doesn't work to have 7 stations and only 3 people / 12hr shift running the department. This has really effected production and quality of the product. FYI - for those of you that don't know why a tire manufacturing plant has a repair station for NEW tires, it's because they have to buff off some of the thread so that it "LOOKS" good to the customer meaning that on some tires some or even most of the tread could possably be gone.This is only done on customer products and not the OE ones due to the high specs that auto makers impose on tire makers...... So check your tread depth BEFORE YOU LEAVE, when buying new Goodyear tires or any tires for that matter.
