As for a reputable Z32 mechanic in the Chicagoland area, we're still looking (psssst! Harry!). You may want to check out Sound Performance in Bloomingdale. While I havent taken my Z there yet, I did consider them as my new shop of choice. I grilled one of the managers as to their z32 knowledge and turns out they built (and 1 of the owners owned) one of the fastest z32's in the midwest. Search the forum for some of our experiences with Ultimate Z.
The key to winning is knowing how to play the game. I am diabolically clever and can piss further than you can think...I always win.
