But that number doesn't take into account gearing, which is equally important. Also important is car weight, though we can assume that is ~ 3500 in your instance. Wikipedia has this to say in the RX-7 category:

Base HP on that car is 255 hp, but I have no idea on the top speed. 550 hp puts it "well over 200 mph", and that is 300 extra horses. Does anyone know enough about the stock RX-7 to complete this thought?
