| Little did I know, the clamp on an oil hose on the oil cooler had no intent of holding 80psi today.... A few weeks back I completed the install after having this gauge in a box for a year, then installed w/o the sending unit for six months (I was being cheap and not giving into the $10 shipping for a $9 bpt to npt fitting) and then three months w/o the required control unit (Thanks PowerTrix!). Well today was judgement day... Started like any other with the exception I took the Z over the 08 Camry which was in for service. While heading home on the freeway around 7ish a belt started squealing, thought nothing of it. Sortly there after I noticed the stock oil pressure gauge below the first dash. This was nothing new as that was why I purchased the after market gauge. Within a few seconds a little red LED illuminated on the HKS oil pressure gauge which was reading about 20PSI! I was going about 70MPH at the, which should have put it at just over double that! Clutch went in as took the immediate exit under 'dead stick' conditions. Coasted into an Chevron Extra Mile gas station to find what was going on... After pulling up a dry dip-stick, I took a look under the engine to see if I lost the filter or drain plug. Both where there, but the entire passenger underside was dripping with Royal Purple 20/50...SOB I just put that in about three weeks back! Found the source of the oil, the hose going to the oil cooler had come off. Luckly the clamp was still on the hose, and I had a small zip up Husky tool kit in the trunk (NEVER leave home with out it!). After about three quarts of Chevron 20/50 I was back on the road. Just got back from powerwashing the underside with the help a some engine brite. This was a close one!
