You're arguing with those who have real-world experience.
Implying that Nissan would have included more aggressive gearing if it made the vehicle faster is a fallacy. You're leaving out manufacturing costs, consumer polling data, and a score of other, more important factors vehicle manufacturers take into account when engineering a vehicle. "Does it make it faster?" is not the first question engineers ask during the parts selection process.
