as well as other things. There are cars that can hold over 400rwhp in lower gears, so what you've said is not really applicable. Your car would be both peppier, snappier, saltier, and faster with the shorter gearing. Who traps ~100mph anyway? ;) Finishing the 1/4 in 5th gear is where it's at. All kidding aside, different strokes for different folks. The shorter gears have worked well for me at most of the twisty tracks around here. The only downfall was hitting the limiter in 4th at Thunderhill just before the braking zone. The gears were perfect for Laguna, Buttonwillow, etc. SS
