| Reason being b/c I wanted the color to be exactly the same as my car's paint. After a good 10,000+ miles with the paint on the wheels, there is not a single scratch or nick in the paint on the spokes. The reason for this is b/c the spokes (which is the part that is painted) although moving really fast while driving, never really encounters any rocks or debris on the road since they are recessed in the wheel, more inside than the lip of the wheel and also the tire. The brake dust does collect on the spokes however fast, but just take a nice microfiber to them every week or so, and maybe polish the spokes with normal paint polish once a month and they will last a very very long time. Powder coating will be more durable for sure, with handling debris better as well as heat, and if the color is exactly what you want, then go that route. If however you can only get the exact color you want with paint and the extra durability is not needed b/c you are just getting the spokes colored and not the lip, then go with paint.
