| 15W-50 should only be used in warm weather. 15W on cold starts isn't so nice for the engine. The 50 weight when warmed up does keep the turbo temps down so that is a bonus. Who cares about turbos though? If they blow, you put on bigger ones. :-) To contrast this, 0W-30 is great for cold weather. I personally wouldn't use it in the summer. I just like 10W-30 all year round.
