Message we used to screw our slicks to the rims to prevent movement on the GTOs we ran.

It may be that the new compounds (like yours) bind a little better on their own, although they sure grab the track better too.

I think the big diff between your Stang and the truck is total torque, when it is applied and the vehicle weight.

The truck makes over 500 at only 1600 rpm, and weighs close to twice as much. So a 1500 rpm stall launch is trying to rip the tires off the thing!

Your torque application is likely much higher (4-5k?) in the band, maybe a lower amount (350-400?) and its application would be pushing your lighter car quicker instead of the brick of a truck.

I figure those will be the main differences. Take a look at the link I gave Arnel for a snapshot of one of those trucks in action. It is pretty hysterical.
