I agree with you that the ET Street radial is a good tire, but in general the radials are more finicky, as you point out about the track prep affecting things. I like a car that pulls up to the line and runs about the same time every time, and that's why I like the bias tires, they are just like flypaper. That said, my street/strip car is a Camaro, and the suspension is set up such that I can do 1.4 60's with 16psi of pressure. If I had to run the pressure as low as you are talking about, I might change my mind. At 16psi they aren't bad.
