I was refering to Harrys comment "mismatched air flow from one bank to the next" in the context of having one of two air filters clogged and one side not flowing as much air. In this situation both the dual MAF and MAP will read the same amount of air and both will be relying on the balance tube to even out the air flow to each bank so the uniform signal each is sending will be accurate. I don't view MAPs immunity to boost leaks as a huge plus because there shouldn't be any in the first place. The padding it gives to emergency situations like a hose spliting while out on the road is a minor benefit to a well maintained car at best. If anything it just hides the problem. I full understand the functions, benefits and draw backs to MAP and MAF sensors and I really don't see the benefits of the MAP warranting a conversion. But hey, if you're going all out and running a AEM EMS or something and are basically rebuilding the entire engine management system then sure, knock yourself out.
