In Reply To Ash, what holds the piping in place? I don't see any posted by robo (sebring1970) on October 15, 2007 at 10:46 PM

Message You'll probably believe it though :) - these pipes *just* fit into the vehicle - they snake through the chassis and other components so closely that the fit is no issue. Having them rigidly mounted in the car would also likely cause some issues when the engine torques around.

FWIW, the border 60mm kit doesn't have the brackets and my personal Z doesn't use any brackets on the 2.5" piping either. They really aren't necessary given the fitment these larger pipes so having them just for sake of saying so would definately have a negative impact on the final pricing. :-(

The factory piping, especially at the turbo discharge, has a nasty tendency for the couplers to pop off under boost if they aren't locked down at their mounting points. The larger 2.5" piping doesn't suffer given the additional surface area at the coupler-pipe interface. I've been running the 2.5" setup in my personal Z, Dee Ridgeway in his TT, and Anthony Magliari as well and even using standard worm-screw clamps I know for certain that I nor Dee have experienced any couplers blowing off. I wouldn't expect that Anthony has either, but I can't say for certain.
