[ http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=204825 ] I must admit some interesting responses. Heres the way I work with cashing checks... If you order something from me...CUSTOM IE. interiors or boots...I take full payment in advance much like ANY custom shop will do. Remember these are ALL made to order...I only stock the boots. My margin of profit on interiors is VERY small...and material costs are HIGH as is labor....which I pay on the front end. FOr this reason I find it better in my opinion to ask for payment all in advance in lue of re-stock fees or non-refundables. I think thats better customer service. And for the most part I wait a week or so with checks....just becuase I dont go to the bank that much anyway. In fact as I recall he next day'd his check to me. In this case....I didn't cash the check until the order was half way done. It was a funny shade of brown....not on my color chart...if I remember. Anyway....I had one seat and the trim done and cut...as we were originally trying to meet a deadline for Mr. Kemp. We were on target....when he canceled 2 days before It was due to ship.
Im out $600+++++ on this deal.....unless I sell the package to someone else....which at one point Ill do...so im not crying. I think I will add to the payment information on my site though.....just so its totally clear.
