The 80 min CDRs have the grooves placed closer together making it more difficult for a car CD player to read ... especially if it's an older (2 years or more) CD unit. Even if you can get the 80min CDRs to read, they are much more likely to skip since the laser pick-ups in most car CD players are designed to be that accurate. The 74 min (650 MB) CDRs will play much better. Also, get the type with the green background. Blue is recommended by some people but they are less reflective than the green ones (I think TDK 650 mb CDRs are green). I can play the green ones in my head unit (an old one), but blue discs skip constantly. Also be sure that you have CDRs and not CDRW discs as they are typically not compatible with anything other than newer computer CD ROM drives.
