I live in Jersey, and Black Mammoth is right, the laws are the same here. If you are not union, and you contracted with the company for them to pay you salary, then you are screwed, you have to stay until the job is done and over-time is free for the company. When I negotiated my contract with my employer, I told them I want to be paid hourly, so they figured for example if they are going to pay me 40k a year, then they'll pay me 20 an hour, but then anything over 40 a week or actually over 80 in a two week paycheck is 1 and a half time.
