Message first of all, have you read anything about the vw bug setup

Yes

i would like to point out that he is mixing apples and oranges: turboshaft engine specifications with a jet engine that he has produced. in his blog he states that he has the possibility of creating 1350hp, he is actually referring to the 1350shp specifications. he does not conjecture as to what he is actually or probably producing, because he does not know. and, it seems like a big joke to me, so that he can tell people this, that, and the other

Or maybe it's because that's what the turbine was rated for so that's what he said it was rated for? What is he going to do? Strap it to a dynojet? He gave information on what it was capable of and has made no claim to current power after modification.

basically, it makes my skin crawl to read or hear someone boast of such grandeur when there are such obvious flaws. it would be similar me stating that if i had a brand new stock 300zx and did nothing but add, for example GT4718R s, that i would be possibly creating 1600hp because that is what those turbos are rated at. when in actuality they are rated for that given a specific flow rate and pressure ratio, which the stock 300zx is obviously not producing. then i could go tell all my friends that my car could possibly be creating 1600 horsepower because that is what my turbos are rated for.

Actually that's a totally different situation and your thinking is flawed. That's because a turbocharger is just piece of a engine system required to make the specified power whereas the turbine is a self contained power plant that has a defined power rating. Also note the big difference between saying "These turbos are rated for 1600hp" versus "My car could be making 1600 hp". You're trying to put words in his mouth and make it look like he is saying the latter while all he has said is the former.

next, let me remind you, in my original post i stated nothing about variable exhaust nozzles. i would like to state that it seems he has taken a gas generator, and added a ghetto afterburner section. if he would have simply taken the "afterburner" section out and left his setup as a jet engine, then it would not seem like he is trying to create this: La-Z-Link. or if he wants to create an afterburner, actually create an afterburner instead of a flamethrower.

And let me remind you I didn't respond to that post I responded to the one where you said he didn't have the right exhaust setup.

i do not understand what has caused you to become so caustic as to use such instigative language as "One more swing for ya slick"....unless perhaps you have created such a vehicle in a similar manner (seems like your nerves get struck easily otherwise).

I would have thought YOU had some super shizzle jet car when you started posting about how his car was a piece of crap, especially without really explaining why.

finally, you obviously have a one track mind, and have gotten it caught up in some fairy tale world. i think you are inferring one too many things, and have driven yourself up the wall. i am glad though that you sense of humor has been lightened as per post 2060478.

Yeah unfortunately when trying to get people to answer a question and then they don't, it really locks me into one set of rails. However if you're worried about my blood pressure, don't, I currently have my feet kicked up, relaxing while laughing at you.
