i took the motor out finally, there were two screws behind the faceplate on the outside of the car (normal?) anyways, i got the motor out, and it had electrical tape all around it, so i was obviously not the first person to do this to this car. LOL, anyways, the part at the bottom of the motor housing with the screw comming off it was broken off, so the plastic from the new antenna just kept comming out there and gettin stuck. got some epoxy, should be fixed in about 1/2 or so. just thought i'd share in case anyone else is having problems getting their antenna out. maybe i should do i write up with pics while its all out? lemme know if you want me to. later
